Deziani, says $49.8 billion is not missing:Who do we believe Senetor Deziani or Sanusi ?

The Senate Committee on Finance which investigated the NNPC over allegations of fraud leveled against it by the suspended Governor of the Central Bank, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, today Wednesday May 28th submitted its report to the Senate saying no funds were missing, The Will Nigeria reports.

Sanusi had spuriously claimed in a leaked letter to President Goodluck that $49.8 billion in crude oil revenue was missing.
The detailed report according to sources at the Senate also cleared the NNPC and the Ministry of Petroleum of any wrong doing.
The report however directed the NNPC and the Ministry of Finance as well as other relevant agencies to reconcile a sum believed to be around $300 million dollars.

Boko Haram killed 20 for nonpayment of Islamist tax

Twenty villagers in northeast Nigeria were slaughtered by Boko Haram terrorists after they couldn’t provide the full amount of demanded Islamist tax, a fee pushed on those of non-Muslim belief because they’re considered second-class citizens.

Boko Haram is the same group who kidnapped more than 200 girls from a Nigerian school because they wanted to learn and threatened to sell them.

Nigeria’s Daily Post reported that Boko Haram militants warned Kamuyya villagers two months ago that they would need to come up with $1,500 for the Jizya tax. But when Boko Haram returned this week, the villagers were short — they hadn’t even accrued half.
The villagers are mostly poverty-stricken, Breitbart reported. But at the same time, few took the warning from Boko Haram seriously, either.

Panic as Adamawa University receives BLOODY Boko Haram letter

According to Sahara Reporters:
A source has told SaharaReporters that school officials and the student body suspect it is coming directly from the Islamist insurgent group Boko Haram.
As word of the letters making undetermined threats have surfaced, rumours, too, have circulated. Compounding matters is that school officials have largely remained silent. Most of the students at Adamawa State University are fearful of an impending Boko Haram attack. Rumors are being taken seriously.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo Negotiates with dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has met with people close to the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram, in an attempt to broker the release of more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls, a source close to the talks told AFP.
The meeting took place last weekend at Obasanjo’s farm in Ogun State and included relatives of some senior Boko Haram fighters as well as intermediaries and the former president, the source said.
“The meeting was focused on how to free the girls through negotiation,” said the source who requested anonymity, referring to the girls seized on April 14 from the remote northeastern town of Chibok, Borno State.
Reports of the talks emerged as Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, said the girls had been located while casting doubt on the prospect of rescuing them by force.
Obasanjo, who left office in 2007, has previously sought to negotiate with the insurgents, including in September 2011 after Boko Haram bombed the United Nations headquarters in Abuja.

Female B'Haram Victim's Last Words

Her name is Lydia Komolafe. She is one of the victims of last Tuesday’s twin bomb blasts at the Terminal Market, Jos, Plateau State.  Komolafe had in weeks preceding her untimely death lamented the incessant loss of lives to the Boko Haram insurgency. This she did in a series of tweets.

On May 19, two days before the Tuesday attack, Komolafe prayed for a brighter and rewarding week. This was expressed in the post she penned on her Twitter page which read, “This week, I shall be satisfied with favour.”

Sadly, this was not to be as Komolafe was one of the seven students of the Medical Laboratory Science Department of the University of Jos, who lost their lives in the bombing.

Meanwhile, a cursory look at her Twitter timeline and the activities therein revealed that she was indeed philosophical as she was clearly not apolitical, as evident in her posts. In some other tweets, the late undergraduate spoke as she had the slightest premonition that she may become a victim, herself...

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala ~ Nigeria to 'tackle Islamic insurgents'

Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala moved to reassure foreign investors on Wednesday that her budget was on course, oil earnings were steady and military spending would be increased to tackle an insurgency by Islamic fighters.

In Rwanda, on the margins of the African Development Bank (AfDB) annual meeting, she said the budget would be signed soon by President Goodluck Jonathan.

There are concerns that public spending could balloon ahead of February’s election and to patch up the Nigerian military’s increasingly threadbare hardware. About 25,000 troops are thought to be deployed in the northeast where Boko Haram guerrillas are staging attacks against civilian and security targets with alarming frequency and are holding more than 200 schoolgirls hostage.
“Actually, this is the first time I can remember when we had such a tight budget at this point before an election," Ms Okonjo-Iweala told the group of about 20 fund managers and other foreign investment experts from the US and Europe.

Civilians Kill 200 Boko Haram Terrorists In Borno Attack:

The rise of the civilians against terror took the Boko Haram saga to a new turn in the early hours of Tuesday when citizens of Rann, headquarters of Kala-Balge local government, Borno northeast, who had fore-knowledge of an impending Boko Haram attack, decided not to remain sitting ducks but prepared for battle.

According to reports we received from Civilian sources in Borno, over 400 Boko Haram terrorists stormed Rann and neighboring villages in the early hours of Tuesday, with their usual convoy of hilux trucks, motorcycles and Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) only to meet villagers ready for them this time.
The civilian villagers pounced on the terrorists with mere rocks, bows and arrows, local Dane guns, swords and “charms”. But as we have earlier reported, Boko Haram are more frightened of Civilian-JTF than they are of the Nigerian army, and run from the civilians even if they — the civilians — only have knives. The battle raged till the sun came up and ended with the civilians killing over 200 Boko Haram terrorists, capturing several prisoners and recovering several of their vehicles...

WARNING IGNORED: Military Alerted 4 Hrs Before Abduction by Boko Haram

Vendors sell local newspapers, with headlines stating the military was alerted four hours before abduction of Government secondary school Chibok girls on a street in Abuja, Nigeria, May 10, 2014. Photo by AP
Amnesty International alleged Friday that Nigerian security officials failed to act on an advance warning about a militant group's raid on a boarding school that led to the abduction of more than 300 girls.

The human rights organization cited "multiple interviews with credible sources," in asserting that Nigerian security forces had four hours of notice about the April 15 attack by Boko Haram in northeastern Nigeria. Amnesty says an inability to muster troops and fear of engaging with better equipped forces prevented forces from being deployed.

'Boko Haram Negotiates Kidnapped Schoolgirls for Imprisoned Comrades’ - Former Boko Haram Negotiator

Nigerian Islamists who kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls are seeking a prisoner swap for jailed comrades.

Shehu Sani, who has previously brokered face-to-face peace talks with Boko Haram, told DT that he believed the video in which Boko Haram's leader threatened to sell the girls as “slaves” was proof that it planned to use them as bargaining chips rather than kill them. The video released earlier this week showed Abubakar Shekau gloating that he would sell the captives “in the market” to anyone wishing to take them as wives.

But while the broadcast appalled the captives’ families and provoked worldwide outrage, Mr Sani
saw it as a veiled attempt to reach out for a trade with the Nigerian government.
Mr Sani said:
